CONSULTANCY OPPORTUNITY - PACIFIC GENDER AND AID EFFECTIVENESS CASE
STUDY REPORT

The New Zealand Agency for International Development (NZAID) and the
Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) are jointly
inviting the submission of proposals from consultants interested in
developing Pacific case studies on gender equality and aid
effectiveness, to produce a resource which illustrates how attention to
gender equality can improve aid effectiveness to deliver positive
development outcomes, and which will inform future NZAID/AusAID
practice.

Consultants must have extensive gender and development experience and be
able to commence work in June/July 2008. In particular, the following
skill set is sought:

*         Proven gender and development expertise (practical and
theoretical) from the Pacific region, preferably with country experience
in Papua New Guinea, Samoa and/or Solomon Islands =20

*         Strong understanding of the aid effectiveness agenda, Paris
Declaration and aid modalities

*         Demonstrated research and analytical skills, including for the
monitoring and evaluation of development interventions and participatory
approaches

*         Clear and appropriate methodology to deliver against the Terms
of Reference (TOR)=20

*         Well developed written and personal communication skills, and
ability to work in partnership with others

*         Familiarity with NZAID and AusAID policies and programmes.


It is expected that the project will be implemented over a maximum of a
four month time period, ideally commencing in June 2008.   It is
envisaged that short in-country visits will be required for development
of the case studies.

12 noon Friday 30 May (NZ time).=20
