[APWW-Meet] Some more details for Mahidol Univeristy

Title: Message
Dear Everyone,

Greetings from Bangkok,

being a former student of Mahidol university, Salaya I just wanted to let you know that in case you take a taxi from the airport or downtown just say - "Mahidon, Saleeyaa" (pronounce it like that, its the way its understood when spoken to the taxi's), my best estimate is that within 500 baht you will be able to get there both from airport and from downtown... time will depend on the traffic. take a book to read.

In case you decide to catch a bus there are two direct busses one from Victory Monument bus 515 it says Salaya and will drop you right in from of Mahidol university. If you are in front of Democracy Monument just opposit Khaosarn road, then catch bus no 124 also drops you in front of Mahidol university. again carry a book along.. once you get down from the bus there are motorcycles over there, please take one and go into the campus, if you like to walk its beautiful campus to be in and also easy to get lost, without directions....(its big)

Please ask your local organisers or your Thai counter parts to kindly send you the address also in Thai including the faculty name also, so that when you get to the campus you can show that to the guards at the main gate and they will direct you to the place.

I hope Annie can get the same info from our friends when the information is posted on the forum website.

All the best.

Warm regards

Subject: [APWW-Meet] Location of Mahidol University

Question: Is Mahidol University easy to reach for all Forum participants?

Answer:  Mahidol University, Salaya, Thailand is the complete address of the venue. As written in a Mahidol University brochure:

"The easiest way to get to (the University) from Bangkok is by car or taxi. From Bangkok Airport, a taxi will cost approximately 800 baht and from downtown, 500 baht."

Participants familiar with the public transport system in Bangkok will be able to reach the University through buses plying the Bangkok - Nakhon Pathom route.

Watch out for the full details and maps to be posted on the forum web site soon!
