Dear Friends:

I know you all are wondering what happened at the first Convener's Meeting 
where we had a good turn-out.  We still have not finished the minutes, so 
please give us a few more days to get that done.  We are also setting up a 
website where we will be posting information and materials, and that too 
will happen shortly. In the meantime, I just want to let you know that the 
meeting went well and we will share with all the outcomes.

I also want to take this opportunity to let you know that both Thelma Kay 
and Koh Miyaoi of UN/ESCAP attended the meeting and gave us good input but 
you will read this in the soon to come minutes. One of the things ESCAP 
informed us is that the questionnaire for governments to prepare their 
country reports on the BPFA is now available for all on the UN/Division on 
the Advancement of Women website. You can go to 
http://www.un.org/womenwatch/daw/  to download a copy. Several of you have 
requested that we inform you of its availability.

The list is growing by leaps and bounds, so thanks to all of you for 
sending in more names to add to this list.
